First print is live!

Well my first print is live on etsy, I'm not sure why I waited so long!
A little bit of history....I've been drawing since I could hold a pencil (of course, it wasn't very good back then) and began taking art as a career very seriously in early high school. I took tons of drawing courses, both accredited and casual, and yet veered into the world of sculpture and installation (which, by the way, I love) in early university. Drawing and illustration has always stayed in the back of my mind at the top of the list of "desirable things to do" and thanks to some very inspirational people I've decided that much like anything, there is never a perfect moment to begin any endeavor, there is just this moment. So here we go.

I've made a (now public, i suppose) promise to myself to draw something (anything, good or bad) every single day to keep those juices flowing.

Ottoman is finished!

yes, it took me longer than it should have, but oh well. it's finished and so soft! I can't seem to get a good photo of it, the fabric (which is beautiful) looks awful in all my photos...which is why I am an artist, sculptor, and seamstress...and NOT a photographer. hehe, just more reason to get a new camera I suppose, more options and less problems
Back to the ottoman, it matches my pillows, and I am slowly transforming our apartment into a green paradise. I love green, it's so earthy and fresh.

Anyway, I've got a few more drawings to scan which is exciting..and I'm going to go do some more sewing in the next few minutes. I'm very productive lately. So some new things will be popping into my shop in the next few days I imagine

summer is on it's way!

Well I finally picked up some more staples so I can finish off the ottoman, which I am going to do tomorrow morning so I can get some nice pictures of it. i'm so proud!

I also picked up some more potting soil, and some seeds...I am going to plant the rest of my tomatoes on the balcony, and a planter with some nasturtiums (did you know they are edible? news to me! but I am going to eat them this year! ^___^ ) and a ton more seeds for my parents house...they are letting me have a section in the garden so I am going to grow zucchini, cucumber, snow peas, and spring onions! mmm.

more procrastination..

Well I'm off to a doctors appointment, brand new doctor! Finding a family doctor is a bit of an adventure sometimes..

of course I ran out of staples for the staple gun yesterday, so my ottoman remains half upholstered! hopefully I will get more staples today as well.

A little more writing to do and then I am sitting down to paint! I have made a promise to myself to paint this summer, and paint I will!

procrastination #1

I am well on my way to completing a few furnishings...nothing too fancy. First there is the ottoman. Built from leftover lumber from school (and half of it cut by me *by hand* with a miter box..muscles here we come) with masonite covering it. now to attach the fabric and the padding and pictures will be on their way

Also on the agenda are the foam pad seat covers for the balcony

Then, perhaps, I will have the inspiration to do some more drawing
